The Count Basie Center and Basie Center Academy believe that the arts are for all. Through our Forever For Everyone Endowment, hundreds of scholarships are being created so that qualified students interested in our Academy offerings won’t ever have to worry about financial obstacles interfering with their passion for the arts.

The Pat DiNizio Musical Performance Scholarship (Awarded Annually)

Established in 2018 after the passing of Smithereens founder Pat DiNizio, the musical performance scholarships aim to make music education accessible to any young person wishing to enroll in classes at the Count Basie Center Academy or any affiliated music program.

The Pat DiNizio Musical Performance Scholarship awards two $500 scholarships annually for students to further their music education at the Basie.

Charlie Puth Musical Performance Scholarship (Awarded Annually)
Established in 2022, the Charlie Puth Musical Performance Scholarship fund was established alongside the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated star’s agreement to serve as honorary chair of the Basie Center’s Forever For Everyone endowment campaign. The scholarships provides up to two promising music students with a $1500 scholarship to the Count Basie Center for the Arts’ Performing Arts Academy, the Monmouth Conservatory of Music, the Jazz Arts Project, or any other future program that creates a formal partnership with the Basie Center focused on music performance.

SCHOLARSHIP VALID FOR FALL, WINTER OR SPRING SESSIONS
Merit Scholarships (Year-round)
For aspiring musicians, merit scholarships are audition-based and given to students who demonstrate an aptitude for their instrument/area of study. Students who receive merit scholarships are required to commit to weekly lessons, practice, and recital performances.

Scholarships for College and Continuing Education
Arts Impact Scholarships & Awards (Awarded Annually)
Arts Impact Scholarship & Award applications are open to all Monmouth County High School seniors who are graduating in the current academic school year and continuing education after graduation. The Arts Impact program aims to reward students who can demonstrate how their work in any art form will positively impact their career and life decisions moving forward. Arts Impact Scholarships & Awards are open to all actors, photographers, folk/cultural dancers, vocalists, musicians, visual artists, graphic designers, filmmakers and beyond. Whether you’ve had one impactful experience or have been taking classes for years, you are invited to apply.
