(RED BANK) The Count Basie Center for the Arts and Salsa At The Shore are offering a series of free, weekly dance classes on the William and Catherine Basie Arts Plaza on the campus of Red Bank’s Count Basie Center for the Arts.

Classes begin this Thursday, Sept 7 and continue through October 12. Classes are free with advance registration; links to register for each date are below. The classes are open to the public, and in the event of inclement weather, will be moved inside the Basie Center’s grand lobby.

Salsa At The Shore instructor Paula has become well known in Monmouth and Ocean counties, with classes growing in popularity and held everywhere from Asbury Park’s Womens Club to popular clubs like The Headliner in Neptune and Belmar’s Bar Anticipation. Salsa At The Shore also offers weekly classes at Toms River’s Retro Fitness.

These open Basie Center classes are designed not only to extend the organization’s community outreach efforts, but also to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 – October 15.
