Foodtown and Food Circus Supermarkets support arts education at the Count Basie Center
(RED BANK) The Count Basie Center for the Arts received a donation from Foodtown and Food Circus Supermarkets, Inc following the completion of the stores’ holiday in-store giving program. The donation, totalling more than $4,300, will support the Basie Center’s arts education programming..
“Partnerships like this one play an important role in ensuring that arts education remains accessible to students throughout our community,” said Adam Philipson, President and CEO of the Count Basie Center for the Arts. “We are grateful to Foodtown and Food Circus Supermarkets for their continued support, and to the customers whose generosity makes these opportunities possible.”
The holiday giving program took place at Foodtown locations In Red Bank, Atlantic Highlands, and Sea Girt, where customers were invited to contribute at checkout throughout this past holiday season.
“We are proud to support the Basie Center and its work in arts education,” said Phil Scaduto, Vice President of Food Circus Supermarkets, Inc. “Our holiday in-store giving program gives customers the opportunity to support local organizations that strengthen our communities.”
The Basie Center has awarded more than 1000 scholarships through its Turner Academy of the Arts, supporting programs that include acting for stage, television and film, musical theatre and vocal classes, and private and group music lessons for students of all ages.
