Saturday April 11
5:00-6:00 PM
Location: Grunin Arts Education Building at the Count Basie Center
The Count Basie Center Conservatory’s Masterclass Program offers students the unique opportunity to work with professional musicians from the New Jersey Symphony in a supportive, educational setting. Each class enables students to receive feedback, refine their technique, and develop confidence as performers.
Who Can Participate?
Masterclasses are open to Basie Center Conservatory students who participate in private lessons, ensembles, or our outreach programs. Registration and audition information will be posted on this page each semester.
Additional Learning Opportunities:
Leading up to our masterclasses, students may also experience informal class visits from NJS musicians. These visits include side-by-side playing, coaching, and mentorship during regular rehearsals and orchestra sessions.
Why It Matters:
Masterclasses at the Conservatory are centered around encouragement, developmentally appropriate teaching, and meaningful exposure to classical music and professional musicianship. Many students gain valuable experience to build college resumes, prepare for auditions, or simply deepen their love of music.
Stay Informed:
