Basie Center education update: New session, agent showcase, ‘Seussical Jr.,’ music program recital + more!

 

(January 8, 2020) The Count Basie Center Academy of the Arts is gearing up for the winter 2020 session, with programs in both the Academy’s schools of Performing Arts and Music tipping off January 13th. Among this session’s highlights:

– The Basie Academy continues its partnership with Actors Playground, offering weekly classes on Wednesdays for students aged 8 through 18. For more information or to register, click here.

– Basie Academy partners TV Talent 3, fresh off its latest Prime Time TV & Film Showcase (more on this in a few), offers its celebrated one-on-one training, prime-time TV and commercial acting classes for kids, teens and adults, and more. For info, click here.

The Basie Academy and TV Talent 3 congratulate students Max Bonano and James Hartman for booking Billions on Showtime through our most recent prime-time TV and film showcase, which gives Academy students the opportunity to be seen in front of professional casting agents and talent managers. Up Next at the Basie Center Academy of the Arts:

This weekend, students in our School of Performing Arts transform into larger-than-life characters in the wacky world of Seussical!, Jr., our largest and most colorful production to date! The show, featuring the work of Academy students studying their roles since September, takes place Sunday, January 12th 6pm. Tickets are on sale now.

School of Music Recital: Conservatory and Basie School Of Music students come together this weekend to showcase all they learned in the fall semester. The free performances take place this Saturday, January 11th from 11am-5pm, and on Sunday, January 12th from 11am-3pm in the rotunda of Ocean First Bank headquarters in Red Bank.
