The Count Basie Center Conservatory will present a free, online web program Saturday on the magic of making noise.

“The Science Of Sound” is a free, hour-long web session for students interested in learning about vibrations, sound waves, pitch and frequency.

“The Science Of Sound” is just one of the new Virtual Learning programs being offered by the Count Basie Center Academy of the Arts. In an effort to continue the nonprofit Count Basie Center’s mission to inspire, educate and entertain, a number of initiatives have been put in place, including moving Basie Academy classes and workshops online, online concerts from Basie Center Academy students, plus user-generated concert footage, tips on Basie social media channels for parents working in their new roles as teachers, and advice from Basie Center teaching artists on how to reinforce memory and comprehension.
