A message from the Basie Center to those affected by the government shutdown

The Count Basie Center recognizes the importance of the arts in relieving stress and helping those facing adversity.

We also understand the hardships being faced by our area’s furloughed government workers and their families.

For those affected, we are pleased to offer a limited number of free tickets to the shows below. Tickets are available at the Count Basie Center box office on a first-come, first-served basis, and we ask that interested patrons show proof of federal employment:

The Simon and Garfunkel Story (January 30)
Swan Lake (February 1)
An Evening with the Celebrity Housewives (February 8)
Disney’s DCappella (February 12)
Black Violin (February 13)
Comedian Bobby Collins (February 15)
Dinosaur Zoo: Dinosaurs of the Deep (Sunday, February 17 · 1PM + 4PM)

We hope the families of those affected will enjoy an uplifting performance at the historic Basie.
