Shopping at Super Foodtown this holiday season? You can help kids interested in the performing arts

Super Foodtown promotionShopping at Super Foodtown locations in Red Bank, Port Monmouth, Atlantic Highlands or Sea Girt this season?

You can help change the lives of students interested in the performing arts.

Between now and December 22, shoppers will be invited to donate at checkout, to help benefit scholarships for students interested in programs at the Basie Center’s Turner Academy of the Arts.

Since 2002, the Basie Center has offered nearly 1,000 scholarships to students in the region — eliminating any financial barriers that may exist for those interested in exploring the performing arts. The Count Basie Center Turner Academy offers a number of programs – from acting for stage, television and film, to musical theatre and vocal classes, private and group musical instrument lessons, experiences for adults and more.

The Count Basie Center also partners with organizations like Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, TVT3 and Actors Playground to offer their renowned experiences right here at our Red Bank campus.

If you’re not familiar with what Basie Center Turner Academy students can do, you can see for yourself on Wednesday, December 17th at 4pm, when a special performance will take place at Super Foodtown Red Bank, located at 362 Broad Street.

Happy holidays from everyone at the Count Basie Center!
