Fronted by singer/songwriter Matthew Smith, New Jersey’s Hodera deliver dynamic, introspective indie rock with occasional shades of Americana. Formerly known as Epilogues, Smith and the band retooled their approach in 2014 with their debut EP, Reset to Default. Arriving a year later, the debut full-length United by Birdcalls saw Smith’s intimate lyrics paired with soaring, often cathartic arrangements. A tireless touring regimen followed over the next couple years as Hodera expanded their fan base across the U.S. and Europe, eventually signing with Take This to Heart Records, which released their 2017 follow-up, First Things First.
