Category winners will be announced on Monday, April 6th at noon.

The Count Basie Center Teen + College Film Festival’s mission is to locate, showcase and recognize student filmmakers from 7th grade all the way through college. On Saturday, April 4, 2020, selected films will be screened and trophies awarded in several categories, with opportunities for schools to be recognized and for students age 16+ to vie for an internship experience with Sony Pictures Classics in Manhattan.

“It is an honor to return as a festival judge to the Basie’s Teen + College Film Festival this year,” said Tom Bernard, co-president and co-founder of Sony Pictures Classics. “The young artists featured have a gift for filmmaking and I’m excited to see and celebrate their work.”

Films will be posted for a public vote, in addition to a review by an esteemed panel of adjudicators. The festival still hopes to feature a screening of all finalist films, an industry roundtable / Q&A, and an opportunity to meet with industry experts in a virtual environment.

Winning filmmakers vie for a grand prize internship with Sony Pictures Classics, plus cash prizes and Sony video equipment.
