Project FX is the Count Basie Center for the Arts’ statewide student film festival, presented by Bank of America.
Over the last three years, the Basie has received hundreds of films for consideration, each produced by students attending either high schools or colleges here in New Jersey. The Project FX competition launches at the beginning of each fall semester, with a reveal of ten high school and ten college finalists later that winter. Films are posted for a public vote on social media, in addition to a review by an esteemed panel of adjudicators. In spring, the historic Basie plays host to the Project FX festival, featuring an onsite vote and screening of all finalist films, an industry roundtable / Q&A, and an opportunity to meet with industry experts one-on-one.
Winning filmmakers vie for a grand prize internship with Sony Pictures Classics, plus cash prizes and Sony video equipment.
Project FX has ended for 2018. Check back to submit your film and for more information for next seasons festival click here.
