Count Basie Center for the Arts announces screenings of awards season favorites; tickets just $5!

 

(RED BANK – JAN 15) The Count Basie Center for the Arts will host screenings of this year’s most celebrated films during its 2019 “Awards Season Screenings” program. Titles set to screen are Roma, Crazy Rich Asians, Mary Poppins Returns, Stan & Ollie, VICE, BlacKkKlansman, The Favourite and Green Book.

Tickets for all screenings are just $5, or free with a yearlong Count Basie Center Cinema Society membership, which also provides a free popcorn at each screening.

Last week, the Basie hosted more than 2,000 patrons for screenings of Bohemian Rhapsody, the Golden Globe winner for Best Motion Picture – Drama, which also netted star Rami Malek the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. A sold-out crowd also screened A Star Is Born at the Basie’s Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre. Starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, the film has netted Gaga her own Golden Globe trophy for “Shallow” as Best Original Song – Motion Picture, as well as a shared “Best Actress” award from the Critic’s Choice Awards.
